‘FRIENDS LIKE YOU’ FROM KRISTY JAMES

‘Friends Like You’, the latest single from Kristy James, is an edgy, catchy and fast moving tale of best friends who confide in and trust each other. But inevitably it ends bitterly. The story behind the song is filled with raw emotion when she finds out that the other woman is in fact her best friend.
The singer-songwriter has once again called upon the talents of ARIA award winning producer Simon Johnson at Hillbilly Hut. ‘Friends Like You’ is the first single from Kristy’s upcoming debut album.
Being a part of the music industry for as long as she can remember, Kristy made her start at the Steel City Country Music Club with the likes of Catherine Britt and Kirsty Lee Akers. She won her first quest – The Junior Junior Vocal at just 11 years old. The artist has since amassed over 60 trophies to her name.

In 2009, the Newcastle born and bred artist reached the first round finals of Telstra Road To Tamworth and then went on to release her debut single, ‘Overdrive’ followed by debut EP “Nobody’s Gonna Make Me”, which peaked at #2 on the iTunes Country Top Albums chart – only Taylor Swift kept her from the top spot. ‘Friends Like You’ has since matched that chart position on the iTunes Country Top Songs chart – this time the elusive #1 was foiled by Carrie Underwood.
Career highlights have included performing at the Port Stephens Country Music festival, Blue Water Country Music Festival, Central Coast Country Music Festival, Monkerai BnS, Ariah Park BnS and she can add Country At Caves to that list this weekend.
