“Carry Me” Sally-Anne Whitten

After releasing “A Little Too Much”, her first album in six years, it’s time for Sally-Anne Whitten to showcase a new single. ‘Carry Me’ follows on from first single, ‘Good Girl’ which accompanied the album’s release on July 19.

Another self-penned track, ‘Carry Me’ was inspired by a conversation with a family member and Sally-Anne asked them how they were really doing. They replied “things are pretty rough right now. But I will always be all right.” Sally-Anne explains, “This song speaks of the courage to accept that things might not be good at that moment but will somehow eventually be ok, and in the meantime, you do whatever you need to get there… that conversation stayed with me for a long time. ‘Carry Me’, is not only about how pain is temporary, but also the resilience of the human spirit”.

“A Little Too Much”,the first full-length album since 2018’s “Burgundy Street” also marked the first time in Sally-Anne’s 21 years of recording that she’s written every track – aside from track 1, ‘Not Afraid Of The Dark’, originally released as a single in April 2021 and written with friend James Craswell via Messenger! On its release the album peaked at #5 on the iTunes Country Top Albums chart and lead single, ‘Good Girl’ reached #4 on the Amrap Regional Charts.
