CONNIE’S EPIC JOURNEY TO THE TAMWORTH COUNTRY MUSIC FESTIVAL

CKA_Amos_TCMF2015For some it’s a quick trip into the Tamworth Country Music festival, for others it’s an unmissable epic journey. West Australian singer songwriter Connie Kis Andersen left Perth WA on January 1st and at this time is still travelling back home. During the trip over to the East Coast Connie picked up 2x shows in Esperance, WA, one at the Country Music Club, in Ballarat VIC and finally at Antill Country Golf Club in Western Sydney. The final leg of the journey to the iconic annual festival was overnight in order to arrive in time for Connie’s first show at the Songwriters’ Microphone.
Over the 10 day festival the thrice-named Western Australian Best Country Female Artist performed at seven shows and appeared at a variety of promotional media commitments. The shows included the sold-out ‘Showcase West Australia’ at the Dag Sheep Station, Nundle with fellow westerners Terry Bennetts, Jonny Taylor and Courtney Conway plus the launch of her latest album “Naked Under The Radar” where she was accompanied by Amos Morris.

Other festival highlights included being awarded the Gold Medallion Media Award for Best Female Vocalist (Central West Region) which is determined by media across the country and attending the 43rd Country Music Awards Of Australia aka The Golden Guitar Awards, a must on every Tamworth trip. Here Connie was able to meet face to face with fellow artists and industry colleagues.
This week current single, ‘The Other Side Of Midnight’ celebrates 18 weeks on the Country Tracks Top 40 chart, peaking at #2 and currently at #4 Country Tracks Top 40 Connie says “THANK YOU, thank you to Australian Country Radio and Media for your very kind support! You are all my champions!!”
As Connie journeys homes she will stop for gigs in Kalgoorlie and then the Boyup Brook Country Music Festival where she has been invited by the organizing committee to present the opening speech of the 30th Anniversary of the WA Country Music Awards on Friday February 13th plus main stage MC on the Sunday in addition to her varied musical performances at the festival
