With this new release, Sally-Anne Whitten honours her mother aka the queen of the family. ‘Daughter Of A Queen’ is about knowing who you are and where you come from. And most importantly, owning it and honouring it… even the parts that are possibly a little harder to love. Those parts are essential to who we are. The autobiographical track recognises life’s too precious to spend making yourself smaller or duller to make others comfortable.
The Tamworth singer-songwriter tell us, “My “Queen”, my mother, was known to be a sharp, funny, sassy woman who had absolutely no tolerance for BS. But she was also the kindest and most loving person you’d ever meet. I know I carry many of her traits (some are celebrated, and others get me in trouble sometimes) and it brings me immense comfort to catch myself speaking her words or seeing photos of myself with a look she used to have… reminds me that she’s never too far away. Every day I’m more like her and I couldn’t be happier about it”.

‘Daughter Of A Queen’ is the follow-up to 2021’s ‘Not Afraid Of The Dark’ which debuted at #3 on the iTunes Country Music Top Songs Chart. That same night, as the ‘full house’ sign was placed on the door of Tamworth’s The Press Basement Bar the single was officially launched. Sally-Anne & her band The Rumour Mill will return to The Press Basement Bar on Saturday April 29th – special cocktails, royal fancy dress & live music is planned to launch this new single.
‘Daughter Of A Queen’ will be released on Friday April 28th, 2023
