‘Relationship Status’ is the follow-up to the 2021 debut single, ‘Dream’ from Far North Queensland artist Jacynta’lee. The self-penned song was written through the cold snap of a dead-end relationship and composed with a lively and comical perspective in mind. Luke Combs’ ‘Honkytonk Highway’ and Brooks and Dunns’ ‘Boot Scootin’ Boogie’ offered inspiration and a boot scootin’ reference can be found in the lyrics.
No stranger to the Australian country music industry, Jacynta’lee has been performing around the country since the age of six. Her career was offered an all-important kick-start in 2009, when the Tamworth Regional Council and the CCMA (Capital Country Music Association) awarded Jacynta’lee the prestigious Tamworth Camerata Country Music College (pre CMAA Academy Of Country Music) scholarship.
The singer-songwriternames strong female artists as her influences both legends – Dolly Parton, Reba McIntire and Martina McBride and current queens of country music – Carrie Underwood, Maren Morris and Kacey Musgraves. A young Jacynta’lee was first introduced to the world of music and singing specifically by her mum Karren – a vocal coach who has been studying the vocal instrument for over 30 years.
Career highlights so far include claiming various awards and performing at Brisbane Champion of Champions (QLD Titles), Tamworth Country Music Festival, FNQ Country Music Festival, The Gympie Muster, Richmond Country Music Festival, Townsville Champion of Champions (FNQ Titles) and sharing the stage with some of country music’s biggest names. Over the years Jacynta’lee has opened shows for The McClymonts, Amber Lawrence, Felicity Urquhart, Adam Brand, and Fanny Lumsden. Born and raised in Malanda on the Atherton Tablelands in North Queensland, Jacynta’lee has worked at a Bowen Basin mine as a Project Supervisor – Engineering Department for the last three and a half years.
