Katelann Maree’s new single ‘Let Him Go’ is an original tune, written at The Song Muster (Gympie) in 2022 with fellow artists Linc Phelps and Amy Ryan. Influenced by a friend looking from the outside in at her friend’s relationship; one fuelled by domestic violence, narcissistic abuse and toxicity. It sings to the listener how sometimes in our own lives we don’t see certain situations for what they truly are as we tend to look through rose coloured glasses. Sometimes we want things to work out so badly that we feel it is our duty to change or fix them but eventually realise it’s not. A year since the song was written Katelann Maree now believes part of the song was subconsciously written about her own relationship, one which she has since left behind.

‘Let Him Go’ comes after almost 2 years since the release of her debut EP “A Different Kind Of High” – which featured the singles ‘Grandad’s Guitar’ & ‘Different Kind Of High’ (the EP’s title track) – both tracks were written shortly after she attended the 2020 CMAA Academy Of Country Music with the help of mentors Catherine Britt & Melody Moko. The singles were played across Australian radio with the title track featuring on Apple Music’s ‘Aussie Country’ & Spotify’s ‘Country Chill’ playlists while ‘Grandad’s Guitar’ was played on CMT Australia’s ‘Fresh Country’ and ‘Aussie Country’ programs. Katelann Maree’s debut EP peaked at #2 on the iTunes Australian Country Albums chart.
The success of each release allowed Katelann Maree to play at some of Australia’s biggest music festivals including Tamworth Country Music Festival, Gympie Music Muster and 2022’s Big Skies Festival. Katelann has since been asked back to Big Skies Festival for 2023 where she will play alongside a line-up of high-profile artists including Diesel, Eskimo Joe, The Rogue Traders, Baby Animals, The Angels & O’Shea.
When Katelann Maree isn’t in the recording studio or on the stage, she enjoys teaching music to the next generation of performers and her other vocation as a professional trainer at Katelann Maree Health Fitness. Katelann Maree still lives in the regional town of Miles, in Queensland’s Western Downs where she was born & bred along with her two children, Braydon & Ella.
