The Tasmanian-based, Victorian-born artist Miss Kate Elizabeth introduces her debut single, ‘Ready To Love Again’. Just over 12 months ago, the original track was penned after the country-pop newcomer admits the end of her marriage was reshaping her entire life.
Kate Elizabeth shares, “At 33, I found myself standing in unfamiliar territory – learning who I was outside of being someone’s wife. The months leading up to writing this song were about rebuilding. I had cried the tears, sat with the loneliness, questioned my identity, and slowly begun rediscovering my independence. I had done the hard emotional work. Around that time, I met someone unexpectedly. It wasn’t intense or defined – it was simple. Safe. Uncomplicated. For the first time in a long time, I felt something soften. Something open.”
Part of the song captures that initial spark – the curiosity and gentle hope of meeting someone new. But the heart of ‘Ready To Love Again’ isn’t about another person. It’s about the moment you realise you’re ready. Ready to trust yourself again. Ready to be vulnerable again. This isn’t a heartbreak song. It’s a healing song.
Kate Elizabeth: “I wanted to write something that anyone who has walked through loss or reinvention could connect with – a reminder that surviving something painful doesn’t close your heart; it strengthens it. That being ready again isn’t weakness. It’s courage. Because endings don’t define us. How we rebuild does.”

** Kate’s musical journey began at the age of 20 when she picked up a guitar and taught herself the basics, pairing simple chords with heartfelt lyrics.
** What started as a personal creative outlet soon grew into a passion for performance, leading her to hone her craft across a range of live settings – from weddings and intimate gigs to busking and ensemble-based performances.
** In 2019, Kate’s songwriting talent was recognised when she received the APRA AMCOS/TSA New Songwriter Of The Year Award (co-written track, ‘Meant To Be’)
