TANYA SELF’S COMEBACK ARIA CHART SUCCESS

Tanya Self's "Random Truths" enters the ARIA Country Albums Chart at #6.
Tanya Self’s “Random Truths” enters the ARIA Country Albums Chart at #6.

After a 10-year career break, Tanya Self is celebrating chart success all over again with her new album “Random Truths”. Launched at Urban Country earlier this month, the 14-track original collection has debuted at No.4 on the ARIA Australian Country Albums Chart.
Sitting amongst industry heavyweights Keith Urban, Troy Cassar-Daley and one-time duet partner Adam Harvey, Tanya is overjoyed with this news, “I am so grateful for the welcoming, opened arms of the country music family after so long. I genuinely love what I do – connecting with people – I’ve never lost that and now it is kind of cool that my kids are just  beginning to see the role of hard work, perseverance and a positive attitude has in realising your dreams.  My bucket list in life is long…with “Random Truths” I came to another fork in the road of life and followed it with conviction and an open mind.  The kids helped me choose the album title – they are all wise beyond their years.  They won’t know this [ARIA CHART] result until they are home from school – I think we’ll have a little celebration together – just a little one”.
“Random Truths” was produced by Nashville-based Aussie Mike Flanders in collaboration with Pacific International Music in Australia and includes a co-write with ARIA and APRA award winning Rick Price on ‘Fallen Angel’. This track was written for Tanya’s sister at 14 and every other person that feels like they are backed into a corner and there’s no way out. First radio single, ‘The Jacaranda’ is a self-penned catchy, uplifting narrative, this is a 21st century Aussie love story about family life enduring “flying in, flying out” for work in the mines.  Like our early pioneers, lots of men (mostly) have contract work in north and west QLD, the NT and WA – their return home can coincide with the stunning bloom of the Jacaranda tree. While the Brisbane-based mother of three is chuffed at this chart success, the promotional trail continues with a guest spot on Brisbane’s 98.9FM Breakfast Show tomorrow (Tuesday May 13th) and a week in Sydney/Newcastle at the end of the month to visit ABC Saturday Night Country, 2SM on the Super Radio Network plus performances at St Marys Sound Centre on May 31st and Blue Water Country Music Festival on June 7th & 8th.
