‘Into The Light’ the latest single from Rockhampton sister-duo Innocent Eve comes from the collective sibling pen. It was the first complete song they wrote together and while the central message is about the sisters turning to each other, the message can transcend to most situations. While the sisters, Rachel & Rebecca, turn to each other, others may turn to their lover, their brother, their friend, to God, to any number of things – to come back into the light.
This is the second single to be lifted from their upcoming debut album “Temporary Balms” to be released on Friday April 3rd. The new CD was recorded last year at tommirock Studios in Newcastle, NSW, by the ARIA-charting producer Joel Black. The album’s title track is about the vices or ‘temporary’ fixes we apply to certain situations even though we know they’re not best for us nor permanent solutions, like drinking away the pain.
The singer-songwriter sisters, hail from a cattle property near Wowan, a small rural township in Central Queensland. Reminiscent of legendary sister-acts The Dixie Chicks and Wilson Phillips, Innocent Eve perform perfect harmonies. Singing together for as long as they can remember, the girls have performed together in a number of bands for the past 10 years.
This sister act has performed at some of the country’s most iconic music festivals and events including ‘Urban Country’, ‘Airlie Beach Music Festival’, ‘Boyne Valley Country Music Campout’ and ‘Cruisin’ Country’ 2, 3 and 4. First stop for Innocent Eve in 2015 was The Tamworth Country Music Festival before their regional tour of NSW.
Last Friday February 27th, Rachel & Rebecca welcomed over 150 people into The Glenmore Homestead, the intimate historic venue located on the banks of the Fitzroy River just north of Rockhampton, Queensland. This event was to launch their debut album, “Temporary Balms”, in their home-town. The property had a very earthy, vintage feel, timber and old buildings – decorated with lace, hessian and white table cloths. “The evening was just perfect, exactly what we’d hoped and planned for. We got some great feedback and now need to do some serious merchandise re-stocking!” the girls said of their home-town launch.

‘Into The Light’ was serviced to radio via WJO & Play MPE on Monday March 2nd, 2015
