‘Un-wired’ tour featuring Travis Collins, Caitlyn Shadbolt & Mickey Pye

Unknown-2

‘Un-Wired’ is a new approach to acoustic touring… This is high energy front porch acoustic jamming – amplified.
Three respected and award winning artists in their own right, with a legion of fans across Australia. Each a talented multi-instrumentalist, playing their own hits but also leaning on a handful of country music’s biggest hits to create a show like no other. ‘Un-Wired’ is a celebration of the roots of music and song in the rawest and most sincere form – Acoustic. From the very second the audience enter the room it’s obvious this isn’t your average acoustic show. Three stools, set against a wall of hanging instruments – like they’ve walked into a music store. There’s guitars, mandolins, fiddle, banjo, accordion, a ukulele, dobro and a bass guitar. There are some instruments that people won’t know what they are, and incredible stories behind them. Throughout the show, they’re all played. At one point, by members of the audience. The show swings effortlessly and comfortably between moments of power and energy, to intimate and personal, funny and charismatic. This show has a depth well beyond just the three individual performers alone and entertainment value that will please audiences young and old.

TravisCollins AlbumCover_smallABC/Universal country music star Travis Collins is no stranger to success, his latest offering ‘Wired’ debuted at #1 on the ARIA country albums chart, and placed at #23 in the all-genre chart. The lead single ‘Curves’ set a new record with a whopping 10 weeks (9 consecutive) at #1 on the national airplay chart. He is a multiple Golden Guitar, ACE, MO, and CMC award finalist. With a string of #1’s under his belt already and a decade of winning fans all over whilst touring with some of the industry heavyweights, Travis now turns his attention to his own tour.

CaitlynShadbolt AlbumCoverCountry girl Caitlyn Shadbolt’s angelic voice and infectious enthusiasm make a perfect package. Caitlyn’s energy is contagious and brings a smile to every audience she encounters with her new fun loving style of country music. Since picking up a guitar and joining her first rock band at age 12, ‘Cait’ has performed on many stages, from local pubs and clubs to major festivals all over Australia both solo and with a band. In 2014, Cait was a top five finalist on hit TV talent show ‘X Factor’ winning hearts and ears of thousands of fans across Australia. Cait has since kept busy as a special guest with Lee Kernaghan, The Wolfe Brothers, Taylor Henderson, Jasmine Rae and her X Factor co-star Dean Ray. When not touring and performing on stage, Caitlyn is the Youth Ambassador for the Gympie Region. In July 2015 Caitlyn signed to ABC Music and launched her debut, self-titled EP at the Gympie Music Muster in August where she absolutely ‘smashed it’ when she performed on the main stage for the first time.

MickeyPye AlbumCoverMickey Pye is a 25 year old Australian country artist from the small town of Oberon in NSW. Having toured extensively as a guitarist for some of Australia’s biggest country acts including Beccy Cole, Tania Kernaghan, and Travis Collins, he is a well-respected musician in the industry and one of the most exciting young artists coming through the ranks. In 2015, Mickey was given the industry’s prestigious ‘Toyota Star Maker’ award, beating a white-hot field of competition. After cutting his teeth relentlessly playing in pubs and clubs throughout the touring circuit, ‘Mickey Pye’ has stamped his name on many peoples lips already, even before his debut album ‘Unleashed’ comes in August 2015.

STEVE BINDER to present his ELVIS ’68 ‘COMEBACK’ SPECIAL Show at Parkes and Tamworth

Steve Binder and Elvis Presley

Steve Binder and Elvis Presley

Steve Binder, who conceived, produced & directed the Elvis ’68 Comeback Special which was responsible for bringing Elvis back, is coming to Australia to present his Elvis Comeback Special at the Parkes Elvis Festival, and the Tamworth Country Music Festival in January.  Binder is widely regarded as the most successful Producer/Director ever in American TV / Music History.  Among his many landmark achievements, the U.S. TV ‘Bible’ TV Guide named his ELVIS ’68 ‘Comeback’ Special one of the two most iconic and important musical shows & performances in U.S. Television/Music History, along with The Beatles debut on The Ed Sullivan Show.

Binder also directed and produced 6 of TV Guide’s list of “The Top 100 Most Important Musical Moments on Television in the 20th Century”. His list of major TV and film credits runs some 15 pages long.

Priscilla Presley recently said that if it wasn’t for Steve Binder, Elvis would not have had his second career. For Binder’s book: “Elvis ’68 – A Retrospective” Priscilla is quoted on the cover saying: “It was time for Elvis to do something in a big way. Steve Binder came along at the right time. And magic happened. Their journey made history. And still, today, we enjoy and are mesmerized by that magic.”

And that magic continues to impact…Steve and the multiple-award winning Elvis ‘68 Special were honoured again last year at the Emmy Awards in Hollywood, and Steve and Priscilla were also invited back on stage together as presenters.

Binder is also obviously one of the two most important and influential living people in Elvis’s career: viz. Priscilla & Steve.  Steve has been performing his Elvis ’68 Special theatrical show in the U.S. to ‘Sold Out’ audiences, screening segments of the ’68 Special, and recounting his experiences with Elvis, including conceiving the Special with Elvis’ full concurrence and co-operation, how he got to know Elvis on a personal level, how they trusted each other and their instincts, and became good friends.

Parkes Elvis Festival fans will hear the inside stories and secrets behind the making of the ’68 Special – including that both Steve and Elvis defied Colonel Parker, and Steve changed what was to have been a Christmas Carol TV Special into what became ‘The Return of The King’ …and the rest truly is History.

During Steve Binder’s live show he will reveal numerous insider secrets that he shared with Elvis. He will present on the big screen segments of the ’68 Special, with pauses during which Steve will talk to the audience, relate to what they just saw, and what they are about to see next.  Steve will also present unique out-takes and photographs of Elvis and him taken during the rehearsals and making of the ‘68 Special, and will relay some of his discussions with Elvis. Elvis trusted Steve with his career, and Steve and Elvis both delivered.

Steve and the 2016 Parkes/Elvis Wall Of Fame Honouree, Robie Porter (Rob E.G.) became business partners in the U.S. in 1971. They formed The Binder/Porter Organisation, and Binder/Porter Productions, a highly successful record & television production company. Their artist management division managed such leading Australian artists as Rick Springfield, Daddy Cool and Russell Morris, They also formed Wizard Records together in Australia in 1972, which became one of the two top independent Australian record companies, producing  numerous #1 Hit recording artists including Rick Springfield, Daddy Cool, Marcia Hines, Air Supply, Tommy Emmanuel, Hush, Colleen Hewett, and Robie Porter. The famed U.S. Billboard Magazine named Steve Binder & Robie Porter “The Instigators of the Aussie Music Invasion of America”. Binder/Porter Productions and The Wizard Group will produce The ELVIS ’68 Comeback Special shows, and Porter will be the Host/Compere.

Binder/Porter will also present “An Audience with Steve Binder” at which the audience will get to join Steve for an unforgettable up-close and personal discussion in a conference-room setting. The audience will personally meet, sit and chat with Steve as he reveals more about the friendship and trust that he and Elvis developed, and more stories behind their making of The Comeback Special.

Both events will be presented at the Parkes Services Club during the Parkes Elvis Festival 5th to 9th January, and at Wests Diggers and Wests Tamworth on Wednesday 20th January. For more info/tix for Parkes CLICK HERE

Porter will also celebrate his Wall Of Fame Induction with his Rob E.G. “Behind The #1 Hits Show” at Parkes Services Club on Friday 8th January.

He will also present The Rob E.G. BIG Show – A Mega-Charity Benefit Event at Wests Diggers Tamworth on Monday 18th January, with Very Special Guests: Ben Ransom, The Great Australian Guitar Shoot Out and Fiddlers Duel, The Men Of Steel, and Surprise Guest Artists: All profits to assist the Homeless of Tamworth.

NEW MUSIC: ‘In A Heartbeat’ From John Krsulja

'In A Heartbeat' is the 1st single from "Travellin'" - the debut album from John Krsulja

‘In A Heartbeat’ is the 1st single from “Travellin'” – the debut album from John Krsulja

‘In A Heartbeat’ – the debut single from John Krsulja is a duet with Katie Brianna and co-written with Kerrie Garside and Golden Guitar winners Luke O’Shea and Lachlan Bryan. The track is based on the true love story of Joy Reid, who as a young Aboriginal woman met and fell in love at 16 with her first love Daryl Wilson. The pair were unable to be together because it was, “Back in the day when nice white boys never had black girlfriends”, says Aunty Joy.

After 40 years Daryl contacted Aunty Joy, they agreed to meet at Maitland Railway Station and as Daryl held Joy, their love came back to them… ‘In A Heartbeat’. Still together now, you can learn more about their love story from ABC Radio’s ‘Meet The Mob’ CLICK HERE

‘In A Heartbeat’ is the first single from John’s debut album “Travellin’” which was produced by friend and mentor Karl Broadie. The album was recorded at the Cliff Tops of Sydney and at The DAG Sheep Station, Nundle – owned by John Krsulja or John K, as he’s better known to his friends. After years of travelling around the world and Australia, John settled in Tamworth, Australia’s Country Music Capital with his wife Belinda and their two little girls Brooke and Jade. It was at The DAG, inspired by all the artists he has met over the years, that John K resurrected his 20 year love for song writing and performing. Recently released, “Travellin’” is the result of this love and time.

“In a world where authenticity is in short supply and the music ‘biz’ awash with fakery on all sides, John Krsulja’s debut album “Travellin’” arrives as a welcome blast of honesty and integrity. The songs are heartfelt and real, full of fine words on family and life, rendered by John in a voice that is warm and convincing. The songs are wrapped in a suitably tasteful Karl Broadie production palette allowing the songs and the spirit to cut through the babble and white noise of modern life. They deserve to be heard.”

Michael Roberts (MBE) – Producer, Musician aka ‘Mickey Blue Eyes’

Simply Bushed’s Paul Grierson and Chris Rieger live on stage

Simply Bushed, the band described by the late great Doc Neeson (The Angels) as a bush band on steroids, is back with a new single, ‘Saturday Night’. Featured on the band’s 2014 album “This Country”, which received two Golden Guitar finalist spots, this track is all about getting ready to party at the family bush dance in the local hall.
