Sara O’Connor has released the music video for ‘Dark All Day’, the title track of her most release album. The music video was shot in Tamworth during the 2020 Country Music Festival by Michael Carpenter of Sydney’s Love Hz Studios.
“Don’t live like darkness lasts forever, summer comes and shadows turn to light”
This line was written in late 2019. The song itself is about how dark times or emotions always have the capability to evolve into the light. Sara wanted the song to take a hopeful turn with this verse, to use the metaphor of the seasons to reflect the way in which our lives and emotions can change for the better too.
The cover artwork for “Dark All Day” was created by Archibald Prize winning artist Wendy Sharpe. Sara, Wendy and her partner Bernard Ollis, met onboard a ship bound for the North Pole. During that journey Wendy and Bernard painted constantly, while Sara stood by in awe, but she was also creating… new music for this album.
Apart from the album artwork there is another magnificent link between Wendy and the album. On the back of the ship one afternoon, Wendy and Sara chatted about what it must be like living in the Arctic during winter when there is 24 hours of darkness. They talked about what it must do to your psyche when it’s dark all day and all night. That moment was the beginning of the title track on the album; ‘Dark All Day’. After that conversation with Wendy, Sara went back to her cabin and wrote the song.

‘Viking’ is the new single from Central Queensland sisters Rachel and Bec Olsson aka Innocent Eve.
A cautionary tale, ‘Viking’ is the realisation that you’re falling for the wrong person but fall anyway. It’s about feeling foolish when the inevitable happens.
The sister act once again entrusted their musical baby with producer Matt Fell. ‘Viking’ is the title track of the upcoming album of the same name to be released mid-2020.
Aside from new music, 2020 will see Rachel and Bec heading out on a run of live shows. This month sees them at the Tamar Valley Folk Festival, followed by the Tamworth Country Music Festival and a bunch of shows close to home in Wowan, Central Queensland in February. March brings appearances at KC’s in Airlie Beach and Cape Gloucester Music Festival while April’s highlight will be the first night headline spot at the Boyne Valley Country Music Campout. More dates to follow.

‘Better Than That’ the latest single from Jason Owen was written by celebrated songwriter Clive Young who has written hit singles for Adam Brand, Brooke McClymont, Amber Lawrence and many more. While Jason didn’t write this track, it takes him back to his earlier releases and songs like ‘Life Is A Highway’, ‘Damn Right’, ‘Run’ and ‘I Won’t Back Down’.
“It always feels amazing to be releasing new music whether or not it’s an original or a cover as long as it’s a great song I feel people will love it. Clive Young is an incredible songwriter and when he sent me this song I knew it must be released”, Jason says.
Jason continues to work on new music and plans for a full album featuring this new single and recent releases ‘These Are The Times’ and ‘Apple Tree’, are in the works.

Jason Owen is a country boy through and through, growing up 150km west of Dubbo in the small community of Albert in Central NSW.
Jason understands just how hard it must be for everyone on the land during this difficult time. The hardship being experienced by the farmers has touched Jason immensely and is offering assistance in his own way. Putting pen to paper, Jason is hoping to raise much needed funds with his new single, ‘These Are The Times’.
100% of profits from single sales will go to charity group The Burrumbuttock Hay Runners to assist them in getting more trucks and feed for livestock back on the road. Jason contacted the group’s inspirational founder Brendan Farrell to work in collaboration with the group that delivers donated hay to drought-affected farmers around Australia.
Jason has recently closed out the successful “Jason Owen Sings John Denver Tour” in regional NSW where 100% of profits from the Temora and Dubbo shows were donated to The Burrumbuttock Hay Runners.
“My heart will always lie in the country and every dollar counts”, says Jason.
“It’s a very difficult time for a lot of people on the land and I’m proud to be a part of all the people helping to raise a dollar to help where it’s needed”.
‘These Are The Times’ was launched on Channel Nine’s ‘Farm Aid Telethon’ today. Jason was invited to perform alongside Adam Harvey, Shannon Noll, James Reyne, Wendy Matthews and more in Dubbo NSW. This special event was arranged to raise more money to support our farmers by Nine’s Drought Relief Appeal which has raised an astounding $4,243,146 since its launch on August 2.

“Dream Chaser”, the debut EP from emerging country music artist Kylie Ryan is a mix of cleverly crafted song lyrics, a generous helping of infectious melodies, blended with lavish amounts of rock, pop and rockabilly influences coupled with her own unique style.
Born in the northern NSW town of Inverell and living in Wagga Wagga and Chiang Mai, Thailand before settling in Sydney, it’s quite literally been a long, winding road in the journey for the songstress who counts Carrie Underwood, Miranda Lambert and Shania Twain as some of her biggest influences. Always a writer, be it stories, poems or songs, the self-confessed late starter in the industry, credits music as helping her through some of the tumultuous times in her life.
Becoming a mother at an early age put a hold on the singer/songwriter’s dreams and she believed the possibility of a future in music had perhaps passed her by. A career crossroads coupled with the urging of her husband led Kylie to rethink this decision and she decided it was high time she chased after her long-held dream.
“Dream Chaser” is a catchy blend of traditional and modern country, opening with the first single, ‘Got Me In’, a positive, upbeat pop infused track, before moving into the powerful, rock driven anthemic ‘Slow Me Down’, which was nominated for a 2017 ASA song-writing award. ‘That’s Our Love Song’ is a rockabilly-blues peppered love song. Kylie changes pace and offers us a personal insight into her life with the deeply moving and emotional, “In Spite of You”; the EP closes with “Everytime” a fun, fast paced party song co‑written with producer Stewart Peters of Blue Mountains based Soundshed Music Productions.
